So after I made those skirts for Becky (no, I haven’t forgotten), I had a fair amount of seersucker left. Conveniently, I also found myself in possession of a person teeny enough to wear that amount of seersucker. I made one of these with a contrast collar and a wee little ruffle at the hem (because, guess what, hemming is stupid). Cute, no? I wish I’d made it just a hair bigger - this kid grows fast - and this length would likely be a dress on a lot of babies her age. Turns out she is in the 90th percentile for height, which is something of a novelty considering my other two kids weren’t even on the charts for height or weight until they were almost two.
Here’s the back of the outfit, and you can also see the bloomers that I made by tracing around a pair of shorts. I am exceedingly proud of having sewed on the elastic before sewing the leg seams, but then I went and made the waist elastic slightly longer than necessary. It’s tough to do fittings when your model is asleep. Anyway… that was yesterday. Enjoy. ![]()

Very impressive, and cute! But not as cute as the baby wearing them!

Who’s a clever girl then? Your model is so cute, no-one will ever be looking at the waistband.
We ran into trouble with dungarees because they weren’t long enough in the body for tall babies although I suppose it depends whether they are long in the body or the leg
